Page 7 - HUMAN RESOURSE MANAGEMENT IN HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
P. 7
All businesses that provide food, beverage,
transportation, and lodging to person away from
home are included in the hospitality industry. The
hospitality sector provides services in which the
human element is extremely important as a
service provider.
The hospitality industry contributes to the
creation of jobs in a country by providing both
employment. Direct employment is created in
hotels, tour operators, food and beverage
businesses, and transportation companies that
provide goods and services to visitors or travelers
directly and get money from them. Indirect
employment is created by enterprises that offer
goods and services to businesses that employ
direct workers.
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council,
tourism employment in 2010 was expected to be
207 062,000 jobs, representing 10% of total global
employment, including part-time and seasonal
workers. It shows that they need people to make
their money work for them.
