The term "nepotism" comes from the Italian word
"nepos," which meaning "nephew." Nepotism is a
type of unequal workplace procedure in which a
boss's or manager's family members or friends are
hired for reasons other than their talents,

experience, or knowledge.

It is important to note that not every friend or

relative hired as a manager is a case of nepotism. It
is not nepotism if the recruited friend or relative is
highly experienced, competent, and hardworking.
Nepotism refers to situations in which a related
employee is either unsuitable for the position or

has an unfair advantage in the workplace.
