CONSTRUCTION
1. Draw AC = 6 cm.
2. Draw the perpendicular bisector of AC to intersect it at E.
3. With E as centre and 3 cm as radius draw an arc to intersect the above at B and D.
4. Join AB, BC, CD and DA.
5. ABCD is the required square.
ii. Construct a rectangle when one side and one diagonal is given.
To Construct a rectangle ABCD in the given sides AB = 4 cm and diagonal AC = 5 cm.
CONSTRUCTION
1. Draw a line segment AB of length 4 cm.
2. At B, draw BE.
3. With A as centre position and radius 5 cm, draw an arc cutting BE at C.
4. With centre B and radius equal to AC = 5 cm, draw an arc.
5. With centre position C and radius equal to AB = 4 cm, another arc, cutting the
previous arc at D.
6. Join AD and CD. Then, ABCD is the required rectangle.
