iv. Angle bisector cocnstruction
CONSTRUCTION
1. Draw the given angle A0B of 75º.
2. Set the needlepoint of the compass at 0, draw an arc CD of arbitrary radius to strike
OA and OB at points C and D respectively.
3. With the ends C and D as centres draw arcs of equal radii to intersect arcs at P.
4. Draw a line from 0 through P. The line 0P bisects the angle AOB.
iv. Divide a line into equal parts
CONSTRUCTION
1. Draw an 80 mm long straight line AB.
2. Draw a line AC at any convenient acute angle with AB.
3. Set the compass to a convenient length and mark off six spaces on AC. Let the points
obtained be 1´,2´,3´,4´,5´ and 6´
4. Join 6´ to point B and then draw lines 55´, 44´, 33´, 22´ and 11´parallel to 6´B. These
lines divide AB into equal lengths.
