5.0 RLC Series Circuits


                              Applying circuits using Laplace method are useful for solving the differential

                       equations that arise with circuits that have capacitors and inductors and sources that


                       vary with time.


                       Steps to analyze a circuit using Laplace transform:

                          1)  Analyze the circuit in the time domain using Kirchhoff’s voltage law (KVL).

                          2)  Apply the Laplace transform of the differential equation to put the equation in


                              the s-domain.

                          3)  Solve the frequency-domain algebra expression.


                          4)  Apply the inverse Laplace transform to produce the solution to the differential

                              equation in the time-domain.
