2) PHARYNX
The pharynx is the component of the throat located behind the
mouth and nasal cavity, above the esophagus and larynx, or
tubes leading to the stomach and lungs (5” longs).
Content
Pharynx comprises of 3 parts:
i. Nasopharynx
ii. Oro pharynx When swallowing
iii. Laryngo pharynx occurs, a flap of
tissue, the epiglottis
covers the air tubes
so that food does not
get into the lungs.
