Liquid penetrant test
1. Oil-whiting test
2. Dye penetrant test
The work piece is covered with a penetrating oil, such as
kerosene, then rubbed dry and coated with dry whiting. In a
short time, the oil that has seep into any cracks will be
partially absorbed by the whiting producing plainly visible
dis-coloured streaks delineating the cracks.
