Example 3 :
Draw the Orthographic views of a regular hexagonal pyramid of side 20mm and
height 40 mm given its position as below.

Procedure :
➢ Mark the centre of the hexagon (Point P) and draw lines from P to the six
corners of the hexagon. Now this is the required plan.
➢ Project this P from plan upwards and mark P' at a distance of 75 mm from XY
line.
➢ Mark the points f', a'b'c' etc... on XY line by projecting the corresponding
points from the plan.
➢ Join the P' with f', a',b',c' etc and complete the required elevation.
➢ Draw projectors from elevation and plan to complete the required side view.
