3.4.2 Dimensioning in Orthographic Drawing
A dimensioning drawing should provide all the information necessary. Dimensions
are always drawn using continuous thin lines. Projection lines do not touch the
object and are drawn perpendicular to the dimensioned element. All dimensions
less than 1 should have zero. i.e. ‘.57’ should be written as ‘0.57’.

3.4.2.1 Type of dimension
There are several types of dimensions that can be used in drawing. The
selection of the type of dimension used in the drawing is subjective in
order to produce a complete and proper drawing. Table 3.1 shows types
of dimensions that can be used in technical drawing :
