                       Step 2


                       By removing 2Ω resistor from the circuit, calculate the value of Thevenin voltage, Vth.

                          By using Voltage Divider Rule (VDR),


                              Vth    = V(4-j6) Ω   =    (4−j6)   x (10<45°) = (4.95 + j6.364) Volts
                                              (4− j6 + j3 – j5)

                          OR

                                 i  =     =    10<45°    = (-0.353 + j1.061) A
                                    R   (−j5 + j3− j6+4)

                              Vth    = V(4-j6) Ω   =        (4 −   6) = (4.95 + j6.362) Volts

                       Draw the Thevenin equivalent circuit with the 2Ω resistor connected to the circuit.
