Thevenin Theorem
Step 1
Remove the impedance (15+j20) Ω from the circuit and replace voltage source with a
short circuit.

Zth = (5 – j10) is parallel to (25 – j30)
= (5 – j10) // (25 – j30)
= (5 – j10)(25 – j30)
(5 – j10 + 25 – j30)
= (4.3 – j7.6) Ω

Calculate the value of Thevenin voltage, Vth by removing the load (15 + j20) Ω from
the circuit. There are two different ways to solve for the Thevenin voltage, Vth.
