                       Step 3


                       Draw the Thevenin equivalent circuit with the 6Ω resistor connected to the circuit.

                       Calculate the current flowing through the 6Ω resistor using:


                                    iL  =   V th
                                  (Rth + RL)


                          i6Ω   =    (3−j9)     = 0.334 – j0.605 A
                                 (7.5 − j2.5) + (6)


                       The current flowing through the 6 Ω resistor = 0.334 – j0.605 A




                       Example 3



                       Calculate the value of current flowing through the impedance (15+j20) Ω by using
                       Thevenin’s theorem.
