Mesh Analysis
To find ∆i2:
∆i2 = (5 x 10) – (12 x 1) = 38
38
i2 = ∆ i2 = = 2.714A
∆ 14
The current flowing through Resistor R1 (4Ω) is 1.857 Ampere (i1).
The current flowing through Resistor R2 (2Ω) is 2.714 Ampere (i2).
The current flowing through Resistor R3 (1Ω) is:
iR3 = i1 + i2 (The current i1 and i2 flows through R3 are in the same direction)
iR3 = 1.857 + 2.714
IR3 = 4.571 Ampere
Example 2
