STANDARD TEST INPUT

❏ A sudden shock, sudden change, constant speed

and acceleration are the characteristics of the real

input signals.

❏ In practice, many signals are available which are

the functions of time and can be used as

reference inputs for the various control systems.

❏ The standard test inputs are;

i. an impulse

ii. a step input

iii. a ramp input

iv. a parabolic input

❏ The signals are used to know the performance of

the control systems using time response of the

output.
