PIEZOELECTRIC

Piezoelectric transducer converts electric signals into
              mechanical vibrations or vice versa
Uses to measure pressure, acceleration, strain or force by
converting them to an electrical charge.

The piezoelectric effect is the ability of a material to
generate an electrical potential when subjected to a
mechanical strain. This is the ability of a material to
change dimensions when subject to a voltage.
The piezoelectric effect occurs only in non-conductive
materials. Piezoelectric materials can be divided into two

main groups. There are crystals and ceramics. The most
              well-known piezoelectric material is quartz.
A piezoelectric element is a crystal which delivers a
voltage when mechanical force is applied between its
faces, and it deforms mechanically when voltage is
applied between its faces. Because of these
characteristics, a piezoelectric element is capable of

acting as both a sensing and a transmitting element.
