Introduction to Protein
01 Protein are substances found in every cell.
02 The body needs protein to build and repair
all body tissues.
03 Protein is an important part of blood cells.
04 Protein are made up of carbon, hydrogen,
oxygen and nitrogen atoms that are
formed into basic units called amino acids.
05 There are 20 different amino acids. Nine of
them are essential and the other 11 is non-
essential amino acids can be produced by
the body.
06 When amino acid join end to end, a protein
will forms. The bonds that form between
adjoining amino acids are called “peptide
bond”.
07 Protein with 10 or more amino acids are
called “polypeptides”.
