PREFACE

This book of engineering Thermofluids is designed to serve as a study guide for
mechatronic engineering students. The chapter are based on the current syllabus of
Thermofluids teaching in Malaysian Polytechnics.

There are five (5) chapter in this book. Chapter 1 until Chapter 2, were covered the
topics of fluid itself. And the rest Chapter 3 until Chapter 5 were covered topics thermo
and its applications. In the Chapter 1 is the introduction concepts of Thermofluids. Then,
followed by Chapter 2 focusing on fluid application. In Chapter 3, contains the properties
of pure substance where phase change occurred in Thermofluids. Last but not least,
Chapter 4 discussed the first law of thermodynamics. Finally, Chapter 5 discussed about
the second law of thermodynamics.

In this book, we emphasize on the elements of theoretical, the techniques, an
example and tutorial. All the theories are given in a simple explanation so that student
should be able to get the concepts of the chapter easily. The techniques describe the
method in a sequence step that student can follow easily. The examples are presented
in full details of explanation. The set of exercises and review of past final examination
question at the end of every chapter provide an abundance of questions to helps students
improve their understanding in Thermofluid.

Last but not least, during preparing this book we aim to helps students not only
master in Thermofluids but receive this book whole-heartedly. Corrections, if any and
suggestion for improvement are welcome.
