RTD

                    (CHARACTERISTICS)

Define as the ability of a sensor to
maintain its stated accuracy over an
Stability extended period, usually one year, at its
rated temperature. RTD, when is used
properly, can maintain a stability of
                                              0.25°C.

Define the ability to repeat the same
output value at a given temperature
point in a spanned temperature range. Repeatability
RTDs typically are repeatable to ± 0.14°C
                 or 0.05%, whichever is greater.

                                       4

Measured as the time required for a
sensor to indicate a 63.2% step
Response Time change in temperature in water

flowing across the sensor sheath at
                                             a speed of 3 fps.

The industry has standardized on two
types of accuracy for Platinum 100 ohm
RTD elements. They are Class B, the Accuracy
standard in the process industry, and
                  Class A, the higher accuracy.
