THERMOCOUPLE
(OPERATIONAL CIRCUIT)
When two (hot) junctions are heated, a small amount of
voltage will be generated.
If the heat source is removed, the voltage will drop to
zero. The amount of voltage is very small. It is measured
in milivolts and referred as the thermoelectric voltage.
This thermoelectric voltage is produced by the
temperature gradient along the thermocouple wires.
It is important that the two thermocouple wires is rigidly
maintained, particularly at the points where there are
significant temperature gradients.
