PHOTO TRANSISTOR
Phototransistors are used to convert light
signals into amplified electric signals.
Phototransistors combine a photodiode
and transistor together to generate
more output current.
A phototransistor is encased in a
transparent case so that light can reach
the base-collector junction.
Phototransistors have a higher
responsively for light and the collector
current increases with light intensity.
It also has significantly longer response
times than photodiode.
