INTRODUCTION
Race and Chase board game is designed to boost players’ social
interaction as they use their knowledge of language skills to
produce proper English expressions and phrases. The game
intends to encourage the players to speak natural-sounding
English. The role of the facilitators is to ensure that the players
use English as the only medium of interaction. Although the game
is aimed at beginner users of English, the tasks involved are
made flexible and stimulating for both proficient and less
proficient speakers of English.
For instance, impromptu response task requires players to talk
about a given topic for ONE (1) minute, and this may pose a
challenge to less proficient players but plain sailing for proficient
counterparts. Hence, the facilitators should always be ready to
deal with any circumstances by making sure that all players are
able to attempt the tasks through proper guidance and constant
encouragement. Facilitators are advised to encourage players to
utilise their prior knowledge during the game.
