Team's Experience
After we had finalised our game, we started to buy the
items needed. Then, we carried out a few pilot tests. We
wanted to study the flow of the game since the time
alloted was approximately 40 minutes for each station.
Time management is very important for this activity.
There have been several instances that during the
programme, one of the facilitators would have to run and
check the main stopwatch held by the whistle- blower.
Since spaghetti strands are fragile, we had to wrap them
up using the bubble plastic and kept them in a plastic
food container. That was done to prevent them from
breaking during our travelling. As for the other items, we
placed them in a
luggage with rollers which enabld us to drag them
around easily.
The team figured out that it would be very interesting to
combine Odd One Out activity and the tower spaghetti-
strand building as the two makes the station’ activity
challenging and yet fun. Personally, facilitating the
station was fun and the team had a great time
conducting it.
However, a word of caution, when placing the
marshmallow onto the spaghetti-strand tower, it is vitally
important that the participants do it on
their own. Failing to do so, the facilitators might be
blamed for the tower collapse.
