Thailand is a beautiful country with Buddhist
monasteries, unusual fauna, and beautiful islands.
Thailand has a contemporary capital city and
pleasant people that embody Thailand's "country of
smiles" nickname. It also has a fascinating past and a
unique culture that includes scrumptious Thai food
and massage.

Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia that
has never been colonized by the West, and its king
retains genuine power and is respected by the Thai
people. From less than 500,000 international arrivals
in 1970 to over 40 million in 2019, tourism growth has
been remarkable, with comparable increases in hotel
capacity.

Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. The country
has a land size of 513,000 square kilometres and
resembles the shape of an axe when viewed on a
map. To the north, it has borders with Myanmar and
Laos, while to the east, it shares borders with Laos
and Cambodia. The Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia
