Tourism distribution mechanism
and practice
As a result, the majority of
distribution channels
provide information to
prospective tourists,
bundle tourism products
together, and set up
mechanisms that allow consumers to make, confirm,
and pay for reservations.
Establishing appropriate
distribution channels allow
tourism organizations' to
effectively bridge the gap
between consumers and
provide mechanisms for purchasing tourism products.
Any organised and serviced system created or used
to provide convenient points of sale and access to
consumers is referred to as a distribution channel.
Internet-supported e-Tourism
Management
Tourism organisations use information and communication
technologies (ICTs) to communicate with all stakeholders as
well as to manage and control their inventory.
They conduct business on the Internet (selling products
directly to their consumers).Internet presence is an
important component of promotion for both tourism
businesses and destinations.
Creating interactive facilities allows customers to provide
feedback to businesses and communicate in real time.
