Metallic Materials
o Metals and alloys are commonly divided
into two classes: ferrous metals that
contain a large percentage of iron, such
as steels and cast irons and non-ferrous
metals that do not contain iron or contain
only a relatively small amount of iron.
o Examples of non-ferrous metals are
aluminium, copper, zinc, titanium, and
nickel.
