NGN Era
Issue:
1. Significant drop of traditional voice traffic and users;
subscribers migrate to IP based network.
2. The telephony network is the end-to-end network;
complicated to merge with IP based network.
Solution:
Next Generation Network is designed to enable
services riding on the IP Based Network.
NGN merged all the telecommunication networks into
a single network.
Besides, the Public Switched Telephone Network
protocol (SS-7) was still supported by NGN.
The migration to NGN was mainly executed by Service
Provider with minimal or less effect to the subscriber.
