Geostationary or geosynchronous satellites are the satellites in
               1e
a circular orbit moving around the Earth at the same speed as
the Earth. However, a satellite in the Geostationary Orbit has its

advantages and disadvantages. Interpret THREE (3) advantages
and THREE (3) disadvantages of geostationary satellite.

                     Advantages of GEO:
                     1. A GEO satellite’s distance from earth gives it a large coverage
area, almost a fourth of the earth’s surface.

                     2. GEO satellites have a 24 hour view of a particular area.
                     3. GEO is ideal for satellite broadcast and other multi-point

                         applications.

                     Disadvantages of GEO:
                     1. A GEO satellite’s distance also cause it to have both a
comparatively weak signal and a time delay in the signal,

which is bad for point to point communication.
                     2. GEO satellites, centred above the equator, have difficulty

broadcasting signals to near polar regions.
                     3. It is require sophisticated and heavy propulsion devices on

board to keep them in a fixed orbit.

1f Elevation and azimuth angle are look-angles of a satellite. Show

both look angles using suitable diagrams.
