PREFACE

Malaysia is committed to promote renewable energy as part of efforts to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions and achieve zero carbon by 2050. Accordingly, the
offering of the Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering by Malaysia
Polytechnic has changed the learning landscape in Malaysia education and
developing skills in TVET. Apart from the lesson learned from the syllabus, students

are provided with the basic knowledge of Renewable Energy.

The Basic Subject of Renewable Energy aims to provide students with relevant
knowledge and skills to meet the demands of a new economy that will depend on
primary sources. Among the measures learnt is about the technology and
construction of off-grid photovoltaic systems (OGPV) which can be practiced by
students and individuals to utilize solar energy sources. This ebook is very suitable
for sharing knowledge use throughout Malaysian polytechnics, especially Ibrahim
Sultan Polytechnic (PIS) and can also be used for individuals who are interested in
knowing the OGPV system.

The authors hope that this ebook can be fully utilized and can also improve readers'
understanding and skills about Renewable Energy, especially in the OGPV system.
