RECTANGULAR MARQUEE TOOL
The Rectangular Marquee tool makes a selection in
the shape of a rectangle.
1. Select the Rectangular Marquee tool (M).
2. Use the Option bar to customize tool setting, like Add to
Selection or Subtract from Selection, to get the selection
you want.
3. Draw the selection area.
Rectangular : Drag over the area you want to select
Square : Hold down the Shift key and drag diagonally in
any direction.
Draw from the center out : Hold down Alt (Windows) or
Option (macOS) as you drag.
