Exercise1
As we are going to Payar Island, I had to choose
the location that is the closest to the jetty. The
information of the distance to the jetty from the
accommodation is given based on the list of
accommodation suggested by Trivago. So, clearly I
chose the closest one and the cheapest one for
us all as students. That would be Upside Down
Lodge. I managed to book for 8 rooms for all 16
of us including for our lecturers. I hope they
don’t mind staying at a lodge and not some fancy
accommodation. Afterall, we are going for a
wilderness activity.
After selecting the rooms, I proceeded to the
payment page. I used my own online banking
account because all team members have actually
banked-in the cost of the trip to my account. I
figured out that by using our personal account to
book for hotel room, we sometimes gain extra
discounts or just discounts for our next booking.
So, definitely a yay to me!
Once I had confirmed the booking, I was sent to a
page where I had to fill in the TAC number. The
TAC number was given to my phone. This page is
identified as ‘the payment gateway’. Before, I
clicked to confirm payment, I just had to make
sure all the details for example date and number
of rooms were accurate. It’s quite a big sum of
money, I had to make sure everything was
correct.
After I entered the TAC number as given to my
phone, I clicked submit payment. Then, I was
redirected again to Trivago website also known as
the merchant side and I was given the
confirmation of booking slip, complete with my
name and the booking number. I feel so relieved
now that I have managed to successfully carry
out this task. Accommodation is now ready and I
totally can’t wait to go to Langkawi Island with
the team members.
