LAWS OF LOGARITHMS

                                   DEFINITION OF LOGARITHM

               Logarithm are the “opposite” of exponentials, just

               as subtraction is the opposite of addition and

               division of multiplication. Logs “undo” exponentials.

               Technically speaking, logs are the inverses of

               exponentials.

               For example

               The number 9 can be expressed in the form 9 = 3 ,
                                                                                                        2
               where 3 is the base and the 2 is the exponent.

               We may also express 9 = 3 2 by using logarithm
               notation as:

                                                             9 = 2
                                                      3

               Where the number 3 is called the base of

               logoratihm we read 9 = 2 as logarithm of 9 to
                                                          3
               the base 3 is 2.
