Below are the function of accumulator in hydraulic system

                       a. Accumulation of energy: Achieving a large flow rate and compensating from
                          internal leakage

                       b. Absorption of pulsations: Reducing noises and pulsations

                       c. Absorption of shocks: Used as a shock absorber

                       2.8.2 Filter

Hydraulic systems may malfunction due to clogging and internal wear. With hydraulic

fluids contaminated, hydraulic systems are damaged and fail to provide optimal
performance. Therefore, they require filtration to remove contaminants from the

working fluids. There are two types are available which are one protects the pump by
installing filters at the pump suction port. The other, called the return filter, cleans the

working fluid returning to the reservoir. Below are the examples of filter in hydraulic

                       system.
