Ceramic Materials
Applications:

o The new generation of ceramic materials

called engineering ceramics, structural

ceramics, or advanced ceramics has

higher strength, better wear and corrosion

resistance (even at higher temperatures),

and enhanced thermal shock resistance.

Among the established advanced ceramic

materials are alumina (oxide), silicon

nitride (nitride) and silicon carbide

(carbide).
