SYNOPSIS
LIQUID PENETRATION INSPECTION
(LPI) enable the student to learn
technics of conducting non-
destructive testing on materials, the 1 2 3
concept and technic of detecting flaw
such as cracks by spreading a
thin liquid dye onto the material's
surface, followed by the application of
a developer. It is a common method 4 5 6
used to check for deficiencies in
welds, pipes, bars and other
materials.
Liquid penetrant testing is also known
by several other names, such as liquid 7 8 9
penetrant examination, dye penetrant
testing, dye penetration test, and dye
penetrant inspection.
